We are proud to announce that in September of 2020, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power honored our customer, Everport Terminal Services, Inc., with second place for the 2020 Sustainability and Energy Management Impact Award. Everport Terminal Services was selected for its efforts to convert its entire facility to LED Lighting. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power honors businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies who make significant efforts to increase their facilities’ sustainability efforts.
We approached Everport Terminal Services with a proposal to improve lighting both at an operational and efficiency level. With our specialists ensuring quality products and careful installation, the results exceeded Everport’s expectations. We met their light output requirements by developing a unique lens for each of the lights.
With EōS’ LaaS (Lighting as a Service) program, we replaced over 1,800 light fixtures and lamps at Everport Terminal Services. We were able to aid in getting them a rebate check amounting to nearly 84% of the renovation cost. According to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, this rebate was the single largest rebate payout for a container/industrial facility to date. The rebate check was equivalent to 4,559,356.026 kWh of energy saved. Broken down, this save in energy is the equivalent of 760 homes served for an entire year, or of 341 automobiles not driven for a whole year.
We are excited to share that we will continue to provide services to Everport Terminal Services. We will provide energy-efficient and sustainable solutions and equipment and help Everport Terminal Services be a leader in the charge for sustainability. The impact of designing specific lenses to meet Everport Terminal Services light requirements went beyond finances and longer-lasting fixtures and lamps. Everport was able to see a significant increase in morale among employees working evenings and nights. Because the lighting was improved, Everport saw a substantial reduction in injuries and workplace accidents. Quality lighting is shown to reduce headaches and increase motivation, improve safety, and boost company morale.
At EōS, we are proud of the consistent and impactful work we can provide for our customers. LED lighting not only saves money for companies but creates a better work environment for its employees; it protects the environment and offsets carbon emissions. Businesses need to be at the forefront of offsetting climate change, as we now know that 71% of all industrial emissions can be attributed to 100 companies.
